Yell "fire" in a crowded theater and that gets front page headlines. Do something good and the main stream media silence is deafening.  It's the main reason why the mainstream news media is     dying,  although some former reporters are moving from newsprint to byte-print -- the Internet -- without trying to change.

And the Internet is a good source for news, well, not good news, just anything that will raise an eyebrow.

Seems a mayor down in Tennessee, the home state of buckskin buccaneer Davy Crockett, was upset last week when President Obama's speech on Afghanistan pre-empted the broadcast of It's   a  Charlie Brown Christmas, the one-dimensional animated cartoon that isn't much animated but has become popular in households as one of the first holiday shows back in 1965 - when TV  was  still black  & white for most families.

So, Mayor Russell Wiseman decided to vent his anger on Facebook, and he decided to push the racism issue to a typical edge where many Americans are standing these days. Wiseman charged that  Obama intentionally pre-empted the Charlie Brown Christmas cartoon special because Obama is a "Muslim" and hates Christians.

 Yikes!

He wasn't being facetious. He was dead serious.

Of course, Mayor Wiseman must have thought that blowing off steam by blaming Muslims for all of the world's ills, including pre-empting a stupid cartoon movie, is okay to do and didn't  mind  sharing it  with his Facebook "friends." And he must have also assumed that the media doesn't cover good things like bashing Muslims and making ridiculously stupid remarks.

They only cover the bad. In fact, when the local newspaper, The Commercial Appeal, wrote the story, Wiseman was upset that the newspaper decided to acknowledge his racist comment  and put  it in  print. He called the report "absurd".

Wiseman is  quoted in the newspaper in responding to a call from a reporter, "It's ridiculous for someone to send my Facebook post. You guys are trying to make a mountain out of a molehill."

Polls show that the views of Americans swing on this topic but a sizable number believe that Obama is Muslim. And when you mention this kind of racism to mainstream Americans, they get even more upset because they don't like to be told that they are fundamentally a racist society with one group blaming Muslims for all of the country's woes and another group defending those who blame Muslims by saying we shouldn't make judgments about the racists. Defending a racist is in fact racism, too, by the way.

There are a few people who believe that it's all hogwash and that it doesn't matter whether Obama is or isn't Muslim. Violence does not have an ethnic face nor does it have a religion.

In fact, when it comes to violence, the biggest culprits are Christian and White men. You wouldn't know that from the mainstream news media's coverage of the Middle East, of course. Well, most newspapers are run by Christian White Men, despite the belief to the otherwise.

And minority reporters who are just so happy to be able to get a seat at the table don't bring up the uncomfortable truth about mainstream media bias because, well, they got their slice of the pie and they don't want to share it with anyone except those from their own racial group - Blacks, Hispanics, Asians and Native Americans to be exact. Just try to get into their little club called "UNITY: Journalists of Color" and you find the unsaid sign, "Arabs Not Wanted."

And then you wonder why people get enraged when they pick up a copy of the New York Times and discover that Chicago's Mayor Daley down played a little secret of his own involving Arabs. Daley leased the city's parking meters for about $1 billion in order to raise funds for his over-taxed and financially strapped city.

That was last February. This week, it "leaked out" in the New York Times (you can't assume everyone reads the print newspaper any more it is so biased and one sided anyway) that one of the biggest investors in the parking meter is Abu Dhabi.

Oh My God! The Arabs are buying up America. The hysteria is amazing. The story is that an Arab country invested in Chicago and that's bid news for some, especially to bigots and racists.

Abu Dhabi last month unveiled its official new airline in Chicago, Itihad Airlines and Mayor Daley was at the packed reception. The airline is bringing jobs and friendship to Chicago. But that's not news, apparently. The main stream media wasn't there to cover the event. The only people there were from the outcast ethnic communities and their outcast media, Arabs, Pakistanis, Indians, Muslims and that "type" - which includes me, of course.

Seems like the only way to make news is to do or say something outrageous. Something so racist it gets attention.

Because doing something good doesn't really matter in America these days.

It's all about making money. And nothing makes money more in America than hatred.
